Michael Diamond, MDClinical Studies - Surgical Adhesions (USA)

Dr. Diamond is Professor and Associate Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine, and Director and Vice Chairman for Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Diamond is the foremost expert in gynecologic surgery and adhesion prevention, being the primary author of over 600 related publications. Dr. Diamond is currently the principal investigator and program director of several research directives concerning gynecological surgical adhesions, ranging from preliminary development, to clinical trials. Dr. Diamond received his BA in Biochemistry from Vassar College, was an intern and resident at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and a Fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Yale University School of Medicine.

Shelagh Verco, PhD Clinical Studies – Surgical Adhesions (Canada)

Dr. Verco is the Senior Vice President at Stiris Research, a clinical research consulting company.  Dr Verco’s experience includes the development and management of the clinical program for an anti-adhesion product in the US and in Europe from proof of concept to market.  Dr. Verco has been involved in all aspects of trial design and implementation, gaining experience in clinical trial and program management in both pharmaceutical companies and in clinical research organizations, where she has held senior management positions.  Dr. Verco received her BSc in Biological Science from the University of Aston and her involvement in clinical research began in academia, receiving her PhD for research in surgery at Knightsbridge University.
